The story behind the painting...

A Soviet Foxtrot Class submarine enjoys a brief moonlit passage on the way to her area of operation. The Russian boat's mission is the same as always, to play cat-and-mouse with NATO warships as they exercise in the vast expanse of the north Atlantic.
