The
Collins class is the latest S.S.K submarine, in service with the Royal
Australian Navy. Laid down 14th Feb 1990, and commissioned 27th July 1996,
SSK Collins displaces 3,051 surfaced, 3,353 dived. Powered by
Diesel -Electric she has a surface speed of 10 knots, 10 snorting, and 20
dived. Range is 11,500 @ 10k, 400 @ 4k dived.
