The story behind the painting...

This highly attractive pencil drawing would make a beautiful accompaniment to the painting of H28 by the same artist.  Alternatively it would also look great just by itself, or hanging with other pencil drawings by John Pettitt available from

Each print shows the signature of  Captain MRG Wingfield DSO, DSC*, RN and Commander Edward  P Young DSO, DSC, RNV(S)R.  Please note that these signatures are REPRODUCED from the original piece - each print is NOT individually signed. 
The boat's badge (in colour) is also illustrated on the print (not shown in image). 

Commissioned in 1918 H28 saw the tail end of WW1.  See then continued to serve with the Royal Navy and survived to see the Second World War making her unique in that she served in both world wars.  Despite her loyal commitment H28 was sold for scrap in 1944.
